To encourage every church to embrace disability
To see disability as an organic part of every church, with the belief and understanding that we are all valuable members of the Body of Christ.
How will we accomplish this?
By using tools like The 5 Stages, to initiate conversations about disability, and helping churches see God’s good design in disability.
By encouraging a model of inclusion.
By working with established small group ministries.
By sharing stories, believing that stories are powerful agents of change. To teach, challenge and mobilize the church to action.
Why is it important to focus on disability in the church?
We are called to go and make disciples of all nations: people with disabilities are the largest minority in the world.
The latest United States census says 20% of Americans have a disability.
Families impacted by disability often feel isolated, and church should be the place where they belong, where they are encouraged, where they find hope and healing.
Disability is a part of life.
